I have thought about this often under the guise of “if I had unlimited amounts of money available to me” because I know what I want is a pipe dream.
My long-term plan – once I have my degree, and once I have my life in order, which feels like a crazy thing never going to happen – I want to have an LGBTQ+ “nerd space” / shop.
I have thought about this a lot as I have always been interested in anime and manga and Japanese fashion.
I want my shop/space to be like a game and hobby store – where we would have a small event space for tabletop games. But it would also care alt-fashion items, marrying my two loves of nerdy stuff and alternative fashion. The reason I mentioned the “LGBTQ+” is because it is something I never see, it also would be run by majority femme people – as this is something not in the industry and as a femme cis-woman, it feels weird going into places like that. In my experience, at least.
My goal is to foster an all-inclusive environment for people to feel safe to partake in their hobbies.
